Skin rashes

Ilmi Noura (IN)- 7 days old and on the aqiqah day, her skin was still ok and smooth. 

3 weeks old and she started to develop red rashes on her face..huhuhu..my poor little girl..oh no oh no..

At the beginning, the red rashes were not that obvious and after awhile, it is getting worst. Though, i do asked Catherine- my midwife and the health visitors (JD and Jane) about my concern of her rashes.They just replied that i need not to worry as the red rashes will go away on their own as time passes ( after few weeks). I do asked my fellow friends who are also doctors and got the same replies. Hmmmm...Hopefully, they are right and time will give the answer to it. For the time being, what i did is trying to clean her face with wet cotton from the cooled boiled water regularly. Most mums in the baby forums suggested this method and I found it works. The rashes 'toned down' a bit and the notion of looking into your daughter face with red spots brings worries to yourself. Kurang skeet laa kecomelan di situ..ahaks..

From my internet search (thanks to Mr. Google). Skin rashes in babies are common. There are a list of baby skin rashes from the general to the worst scenarios. Gulp!!Based on my reading and observation, I concluded that for the time being if it true from the facts retrieved from Google. Cik Ilmi has erythema toxicum and 'baby acne'.

what is erythema toxicum?

"Half of all newborns will develop a blotchy red skin reaction called erythema toxicum, usually at two or three days old. It is a normal newborn rash that won't bother your baby and will soon clear after a few days" (source: NHS website) 

what is 'baby acne'?

"Pimples sometimes develop on a baby's cheeks and nose. These tend to get worse before clearing up completely after around six weeks."(source: NHS website)

So and so, time will tell and I am hoping that cik Ilmi will get her flawless skin within few weeks. InsyaAllah.
